Our Middle School serves grades 6–8 and guides students through these challenging years with meaningful academic work, a personalized understanding of each student’s needs, and a steady increase in freedom and responsibility. Students’ curiosity and passion are fed with a wide range of electives, including art, music, theatre, sports, forensics, journalism, robotics, world languages, Model UN, and more.

Our Upper School, serving grades 9–12, is an energetic community with honors classes and remarkable freedom to make choices and learn from results. Students benefit from access to extensive AP courses, college-level Malone online courses, strong athletic teams, an exceptional arts program, robotics, debate, independent study, college counseling, and senior projects.

The Roeper Middle & Upper School is located on the Birmingham campus.

Step 1: Contact Us

Attend an Admissions Event or join an upcoming campus tour led by Dean of Middle & Upper School Admissions Jason McIntosh (248-203-7433) to learn about our program and to see Roeper students and teachers engaging with each other on a typical day.

Step 2: Submit an Admissions Application

Create a My Roeper Account and submit the Application along with the $75 application fee online here.
Step 3: (Optional) Submit a Financial Aid Application

If you are applying for need-based financial aid, begin the process at the Clarity app.
Step 4: Submit an IQ Test

All applicants—Stage II through grade 12—must complete an IQ Test (WPPSI-IV or WISC-V are preferred). Submit a copy of the tester’s full, detailed report, including all subtest scores and interpretation of those scores to the Admissions Department. 

Consult our referral list or directly schedule an IQ test with a licensed psychologist. All IQ test-related expenses are the responsibility of the applicant. An IQ test administered within the past three years may be considered valid.
Step 5: Schedule a Parent Interview

Contact your admissions associate to schedule a parent interview.
Step 6: Submit Academic Records and a Teacher Report Form

Send a signed Academic Records Release Form to your child’s current school. The school should submit copies of your child’s most recent academic report.

From your MyRoeper account, digitally send the teacher report form to your child’s current teacher, which will be returned in confidence to the admissions department.
Step 7: Schedule Your Child's Classroom Visit

Once all the above items are completed, the admissions department will arrange a full-day visit for your child, so they may experience a typical day at Roeper.

Once all the above steps are complete, your child’s file will be reviewed by the Admissions Committee. Additional interviews or evaluations may be requested. If your child is accepted, an offer of enrollment will be extended. To reserve your child's place, sign and submit the enrollment contract with the deposit by the date indicated.

IQ Testing

If you have a copy of your child’s IQ test administered within the past three years, it may be considered valid. If not, you will need to make an appointment for your child to take an individual IQ test administered by a psychologist.

Costs for IQ testing are not included in Roeper's application fee. You may have your child tested by one of the psychologists on our referral list or by any licensed psychologist. Contact the provider directly for an appointment. We prefer the WPPSI-IV or the WISC-V.
