What are one or two highlights of your life?
I've lived in the Detroit Metro area for my entire life. I was brave and moved to Charlotte, NC for the past two years. Putting myself out there, teaching in a middle school setting, meeting new people, and reconnecting with family was an amazing experience. I am happy to be back in Michigan!
Where are you from, and what would you like to share about yourself and your family?
I was born and raised in the Detroit Metro area. I have two sons that have graduated from college and now live in NYC.
What do you like to do in your free time?
I enjoy spending time outside walking, hiking, and paddle boarding. Connecting with family and friends fills up most of my free time. During quiet moments I enjoy reading, yoga, knitting, and needlepoint. I LOVE to travel!
What is a topic or skill that you love to teach or share and why?
I love teaching literacy skills to students of all ages. When a person "unlocks the code" and realizes that letters create words that make meaning is awesome to be a part of. The ability to read and comprehend is a priceless gift that unlocks endless opportunities for people. I am so thankful I am able to contribute to this life long skill.
Why Roeper?

Students and staff are seen, heard, and valued here. I am honored to take on the role of learning specialist at the middle school.
What's something most people don't know about you?
Relationships are so important to me! Connecting with people, being curious about what is interesting to them, and learning from each other is my love language. I jump at the opportunity to meet up with family, friends, and new people.
