Introducing Jennifer Brown, Stage III Teacher

WELCOME JENNIFER!

From Lower School Director, Cynthia Harris: Throughout her career, Jennifer has spent more than a decade as an elementary educator, with a focus on creating engaging and supportive learning environments where students are encouraged to think critically, communicate effectively, and take an active role in their learning. As an innovative educator, she brings expertise in differentiated instruction and social-emotional learning, thoughtfully adapting her approach to meet the diverse needs of her students. Jennifer has developed a strong foundation in lesson planning, classroom management, and responsive instruction. She is committed to fostering inclusive classroom communities where students feel valued, supported, and empowered to grow—both academically and emotionally.

What is your new position at Roeper?

What are one or two highlights of your life? 
Raising my four children and being a part of their families (now that they're grown up) is the highlight of my life! A second has been the many years I've had the privilege of working with students and their families.
 
Where are you from, and what would you like to share about yourself and your family? 
I'm from Michigan. My husband and I have four children, and four grandchildren.
 
What do you like to do in your free time? 
I love traveling! I have visited many spots in the US, along with six continents and 20+ countries. I still have a very long bucket list. I love Disney, specifically all things Mickey Mouse. I love reading all genres, playing games, attending plays and musicals, and sitting on the beach.
 
What is a topic or skill that you love to teach or share and why?
I love teaching reading because I feel it opens so many other opportunities!

What's something most people don't know about you?
My first degree was in Political Science and Philosophy.
